Meet Phyllis from northern France! Phyllis says that for years it’s been a dream of hers to come to the US. She is excited to learn about the food, traditions, activities, and life in general in the US. She is an only child and lives with her mother. She’s always dreamed of having siblings, but that wasn’t to be. She loves spending holidays with her cousins, but most especially with her 1-year-old cousin. Phyllis loves shopping, sports, and going to the cinema. Phyllis is passionate about sports, both spectating and participating. She has participated in many sports, but her favorites are climbing, football (soccer), and tennis. She’s very excited to watch American football! Although playing and watching sports is her passion, she also likes to play laser tag, going to amusement parks, visiting new cities, and shopping, and would like to share those activities with you.

Can you imagine welcoming this young man from the Czech Republic into your family? He loves warm weather and would love to be with a family who also loves barbecues! He lives in a small town with his parents, younger brother, and two cats. He loves sports and has taught younger kids to play soccer. He also loves to study languages, political history, and geography. Milan enjoys eating Chinese, Indian, and Thai food, too! He sounds like a curious and well-rounded boy who would be a welcome addition to an American family!

Meet Celia, a winner of a prestigious scholarship in Spain. This bubbly girl has a variety of interests that will be a great match for any family. Her favorite pastime is her dance group that she is a part of. Apart from dancing she enjoys playing video games with her brother, volleyball, and has recently become interested in Formula 1 racing. Celia is excited to share her Spanish culture, gastronomy and family traditions with you!

Meet Capucine from France! She’s a lover of nature and animals. At home she has two dogs that she enjoys taking for walks and a horse. For the past ten years Capucine has been riding horses and feels that she is a horse enthusiast! Capucine enjoys staying active and helping people, she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty and spends time in the garden with her dad whenever she can. Thanks to the influence of her grandfather, she feels he has helped mold her strong character and values. Going abroad for a year will be a dream come true for Capucine. She feels it will bring maturity to her life and a new outlook for her future. Be the family to make a dream come true when you apply to host Capucine!

Meet Riccardo! A 16 year old from Italy who lives with his parents and one younger brother. Riccardo is a worker! He has experienced many different jobs from babysitting, tutoring, and refereeing basketball games. He has also worked as a YouTube video writer and is starting a YouTube channel. Riccardo isn’t all about work though as he is passionate about basketball and playing the piano. He would love to make music together as a family. He also loves to cook…passion passed down by his father. He is looking forward to the opportunity to cook together with his host family, share his recipes, and learn new recipes. Riccardo has a tight group of 5 friends who are all very excited for his new experience, and he is looking forward to making more friends for life. He is excited about spending a year in the US driven by his desire to immerse himself in the American culture, and to learn from it’s diversity. He is looking forward to the journey of discovery, of friendship, and learning both from his host family, and from his future classmates.

Meet Eillen, an only child from Taiwan. Eillen has been involved in many artistic pursuits such as performing at the National Concert Hall, winning the National Art Competition, and performing French horn at the Vienna Music Festival. She thinks music clubs are important but wants to try many new things during her exchange year. She wants to join a school club or sports team in the U.S. and explore some of her interests. She is excited to have the opportunity to join your family, to interact and connect with everyone, and to build deep connections together. Whether it's the daily routines of going to and from school, sharing household chores or participating in various family activities.

"Think of me as an artist ready to splash some Taiwanese spice into your life." Luo-Jhen is a bright, resilient, positive Taiwanese student who will be in 10th grade this upcoming school year. Please do not miss the opportunity to read her Host Family Letter! It is oozing with excitement and gratitude. Her words are equally poetic and sprightly; clearly her love of reading has inspired and shaped her. Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are among her favorites. She also enjoys playing tennis and cherishes the perseverance, team spirit, and leadership skills it has taught her. Her family consists of her mom, dad, twin sister, and younger sister. Together they love traveling and playing board games. Luo-Jhen is no stranger to the exchange process; her family welcomed an American student just last year. The experience opened her eyes to embrace different cultures and lifestyles. When her family moved to China, she attended an American international school where she learned to navigate language barriers, and new friendships, resulting in her adaptability and resilience. She envisions her year in exchange to be filled with growth, laughter, and shared experiences.

Meet Filip, he is a 14-year-old student from Poland. His family would describe him as a very open, confident, kind and helpful person with a big heart. He comes from a small family and is an only child. He has a dog and cat. He enjoys going out to a local park with his dog and playing board games like chess. Filip likes playing volleyball and soccer. At home, he helps with everyday chores. He loves music and also produces his own music. History is another one of his interests. He likes talking about history, watching videos, and going to museums, especially about WW2. Filip enjoys cooking, especially Polish and Italian dishes. He is into math and physics. He’s passionate about computers and space. In the future, he would like to go to college abroad and study math or computer science. He would like a career focused on making software for spaceships or create his own company based around the space industry. Would your family make the perfect home for this curious and outgoing boy?
